Need Ideas for a 1977 theme cake!

Need some ideas, please! My niece is having a surprize 30th birthday party for her husband who was born in 1977 and she has asked me to make the cake. We have no idea what to do/design. Any ideas would be helpful. She is going to be having a 1977 themed party, disco ball hanging, Star Wars stuff, ring pops as favors, etc... Want this cake to be very unique and VERY SPECIAL, apparently the birthday boy has NEVER had a proper birthday party! Very sad huh? Thanks so much for everyones help and ideas! Leslie

'77 was also considered the "year of the creature" because there were so many big foot, and other creature sitings, that year.

Disco was still in its peak, also.

Not sure if this would help, but if you find one of the card stores that sells the cards that have the year you was born in stuff, like the price gas and etc.Then your cake could have year 1977 gasprice
who was president and things like that. Good luck on what ever you come up with.

I think the idea of beetle1948 is perfect, maybe if you do a little post card with the information, and how is in the present with the same things.

I went on Wilkipdia too and apparantly that was the year that snow fell in Miami!!
