Google toolbar is good too. Just sign in and your bookmarks are there. That's what I use, because I bookmark cake sites (other people's cakes), sites with tutorials, this site, of course, recipes, supplies, etc.

So, if I'm on my desktop, instead of my laptop like I am now, I can just sign into Google and all my bookmarks magically appear at the top of my web browser. icon_smile.gif

Close but not quite. (ok I re-read debi's post and I only have two pages of watched topics, so I must have something in my forum info set so it only saves my requested watched topics)

Any post you have made a reply too will be found in your "My Forum Post" this link is found on the home page or in your profile. For me this is not an easy way to find a topic (as you can see I have made a lot of post) So I would have to go through pages and pages and pages to find the exact topic I wanted.

The "Watched Topics" is only for topics that you have requested to watch.
If you scroll to the bottom of any topic you will see "watch this topic for replies" just click on it and it is added to your watched topics. You can choose to receive email notifications when a new post is made to the topic or not.

Some people will make a post and type "Save" in there, this puts the topic in their "my forum post" however please see the following link for Jackie and Heaths take on this. It is not necessary, expecially since they have the "watched topics" enabled on the site.

Well, every topic I have ever replied to is automatically in my watched topics. *shrug* I've had to go in a few times and delete them because it gets so many, but I've never had more than 5 pages at once in my watched topics. I have only manually clicked the link once. So, How did I get 5 pages of watched topics if I literally have to click that link myself?


**edit** I just clicked on my watched topics, and every topic I have posted to tonight is in there again. I just cleaned this out last night.

see if this solves the problem

go into "My Forum Info" (see it <--- over there on left at top of pink box under Jackie and Heath's picture)

and change a setting.

scroll down until you find all the options w/ the yes/no buttons.

look for the one "Always notify me of replies"

if it's set to YES -- change it to NO.


(and i bet when you post now before changing that setting, the little box "Notify me when a reply is posted" has a green check mark in it. changing that setting will get rid of that check mark.)

Doug, doug.. *pat pat*

I do not have an issue with the topics being watched, I was just saying it happens without me having to click the link, because someone had pointed out this just isn't so.

I thank you for explaining things, and for being so good at it, but I already knew that. icon_smile.gif I know my way around a forum or two.

So, yes, all topics I reply to send me an email if someone else also replies, but it also automatically puts the thread in my "watched topics". I do not have to click the link, unless I start the topic myself. I was just pointing this out to someone else, but was told I was wrong, and it doesn't do that.. all I can say is it does it for me. *shrug*

But thank you again, Doug. You're always very helpful. icon_smile.gif Also, love the screen shot, even better to have a visual, for those that needed it. icon_smile.gif
