I have been seriously considering all of your wonderful feedback on the current CakeCentral.com Merchandise. A common theme was a request for some kind of magnetic car sign, that you could easily attach to the side or back of your car/van. That way people know why you are driving so slow.

This something I wanted for myself, but it seems a lot of you would be interested as well.

***EDIT****
OK, here is the latest on the magnets....
I am going back and forth between using magnets or window clings.
The fact is, I can offer one or the other right now, not both (later is a possibility, however I need to go with the majority first)

(the window clings are non-adhesive, they are also called "static" clings, because it you can peel them on and off as many times as you want)

One thing to note, is that although the static clings are only slightly cheaper than using magnets, they are not as durable, have more trouble in extreme climates, and they tend to fall off easier.

I am considering offering 3 sizes, small, medium and large. I am working with a company to get the sizing and pricing now, and will post here once I get all of it figured out.

That's a great idea Jakie! I don't really like the slow driver part, and this is just me, but It's kinda ugly. I'd like it with the cake central colors. Maybe it could say cake delivery or cake on board. This is just my opinion, but I'd like something prettier!

I agree, I have made some improvements.

One of the major improvements (I think) Was removing the "slow driver"
And moving the "Wedding Cake On Board" Up. This leaves extra white space at the bottom. You could leave this space as is, OR,
Using a permanent marker and write in your Phone number or some business info.

I have also changed the color to the "CakeCentral" Blue, instead of the "ugly red"

The reason I chose to specifically use the words "wedding cake on board"
is this.... When most people see the word "cake" it conjures up mental images of something you would buy at your local grocery store.

When most people see the words "wedding cake", they think of many layers, and elaborate decorations. So although you may never actually transport a "wedding cake"

Its mostly for the sake of the people driving behind you. You say "wedding cake" and they say "Oh, I get it... thats why she's driving so slow" icon_smile.gif

I would buy one for sure. I don't deliver a lot of cakes atm, but am sure in the future I would. However I was wondering would you be able to do a window cling also? One of our cars is a saturn and the body is plastic so no magnetic signs will stick to it. If not, I can always put it in my window, just another suggestion.

Thanks for listening to all of our suggestions, it is nice to see some special things coming up that we can't find anywhere else.

I love the idea! Personally, though, I think the dimensions are really big, and I couldn't pay that much for a magnet. Is there any way to offer a smaller size for less?

That is acutally something I am working on right now. I am working with a local company and they are helping me figure out the most standard size, and are working to give me the best price, so that I can pass the savings on to you. Once I get the final information from them, I can post the final dimensions and cost.

Great, thanks! It's such a good idea, though. If I could make my own, I'd have it read: "I break for cakes!" Ha ha!

Like the sign, but does anyone else delivery other cakes not just wedding cake.

Caution
Precisous cargo -

Wedding & Birthday
Cakes aboard

That could be too much wording, but I do not delivey much wedding cakes compare to cakes and cupcakes

just a thought

What if you also offered a smaller sign that could be stuck to the inside of a window like the baby on board signs? Might cost less too. Those could just say Cake On Board. I'd rather have one that just said Cake On Board.

Hey that is a good idea lisa. Personally my hubby will throw a fit if I added a magnet to his cadillac. He is a big freak on " dont mess the car up!!". Adding to lisa's comment. How about one of those sun shades for the car they have for kids. I would use that for sure for my kiddos and it could also display
" Caution - cakes on board ". Just a thought!

I'd still rather have a magnet. It looks more official, to me anyway. In this heat... window clings tend to melt! I'd much rather pay for something that will last if they are close to the same price.

This is a great idea! Personally I think the window clings would be better than the magnets, but thats just me.

Magnets on the outside of cars is NOT a good idea!! I have heard from other people that they are not good for your car, well I found out the hard way. I had one on my car and when I went to take it off to wash my car it was stuck on like glue! I used Goo Gone to get it off but it ended up leaving a mark on my 1 year old car. I would be much in favor of static clings, I will NEVER put another magnet on the outside of my car.
