i'm attempting to make barney out of fondant but cannot seem to get the purple the right color. i'm hoping someone can give advice on which colors to used to achieve that particular shade, thanks!
Americolor has the exact Barney purple. I used it to make the Barney in my photos.

thanks stephanie! your're right, your barney is the *perfect* shade. i clicked on the link but its not working, do you remember the name of the americolor gel? thanks again
okay...i see that you did not post a link...when you type in "americolor" it automatically creates one, oops! : )
I had to dig it out. It is Electric Purple the number on it is 165. Now that cake was BC, so I don't know how it will do with fondant, but it should do. You will just have to use more. Are you making mmf? If so, make sure to put it in the melted marshmallows, you will have better luck obtaining the desired color. HTH

I also just pulled up the instructions from Wilton for the pan that I used. It was to make the Barney Purple with wilton gels this is how:
Mix Wilton Rose and Royal Blue Icing colors. To each cup of white BC, add 3/4 tsp rose and using a toothpick add 6dots royal bule.

Here is a quick link for you that might help:
Regal Purple or Electric Purple
