I have been dying to try this, but now I am not sure... How do you think a lemon cake would taste with raspberry filling? Would they be too strong to go together?

Those flavors wouldn't be too strong at all! In fact, I think they compliment eachother very well.

I think they sound great so long as the lemon isn't too tart. Yummy and it would be a pretty cake.

gorgeous combination! i used to make lemon-berry mousse cake (strawberry and raspberry) all the time.

if using fresh or frozen berries or jam, you may want to strain out the seeds before using.

Like the ladies before me, it's a great combination. I've made it before and the group that ate it, loved it. Myself included.

That is my absolutely favorite combo. I use a lemon cake mix (or a yellow cake mix with a box of lemon pudding added) and seedless raspberry jam...it is soooooooooo good.

I once used the raspberry pie filling and the seeds were way too much for me...I prefer seedless.
