I've notice over the past couple of weeks a few posts by fellow Texans so I was curious just where everyone is.
I live in Lorena which is just outside of Waco and just down the road from Crawford, Texas--ranch home of the President.
Would love to hear from fellow Texans.
Any of you interested in getting together to talk "cake-ing" ?
I'm in Richardson, which is right across the street from Dallas. Talking cake sounds like fun!
I'm in Canyon, south of Amarillo. Probably a little too far away for a get-together, but I would love to hear about it!
Hi Fellow TX Bakers! I'm originally from Midland (west), but have lived in the Austin area since '86. I would definitely be interested in getting together.
Hi gramofgwen & MandyBs --I'm sooo impressed you both made your daughter's wedding cakes ! (peeked at your photos) Wedding cakes are stressfull enough without being the MOB!!
I am making my oldest son's grooms cake next year--he wants the emblem/logo from Texas Trophy Hunters on it. It's a deer head skull with horns--sound appetizing doesn't it-LOL!

Come on --I know there's more on you out there.
I'm off to get my grey roots colored--but I'll be back to check and hopefully find more posts.
The thread for NC bakers goes on for pages--I have faith that the Lone Star State can pull through---come on!
i will...that is...when i get there next year...that is...when i find a city that allows a seperate kitchen!!! i know there are cities in texas that allow a seperate kitchen...somewhere!!! i've been searching for houses, then going on there city websites to see if they allow a seperate kitchen and i only know of three so far...lubbock, denton, and i think the other one is called san marcos...somewhere in between austin and san antonio.
I live in the Richardson/Plano area in Dallas. I'm not really a cake decorator yet, just started a few months ago but I love doing it so I'm up for cake talking anytime.
Shayna
Gramofgwen,
Do you ever go to Cake Carousel? I'm addicted to that store.
I live in McKinney, about 20 miles north of Dallas. I'm a transplant from Oklahoma. So I've only been a Texan for 6 months.
Getting together sounds like fun. It just might be a little difficult for me since I work a part-time job in Plano.

I live in Plano, Tx. You're right, Cake Carousel is amazing. That's where I took all my cake decorating classes. It's easy to rack up a large bill there.
Hello! My Name is Elle McG. I am 31 and I am from McKinney,Texas. I like puppies and long walks on the beach. Oh, gosh this is not a beauty pageant! As if I'd win. HAHAHA I like Cake Carousel, tis a good spot. There's a couple others around as well. I'd love to talk CAKE. I love talking and I love cake so I'm game! Shayna! You're pretty close to me. Maybe we could stalk each other. J/k j/k j/k. It was a joke guys. Sorry!! Feeling a little ornery today! Can ya tell?
Elle
I'm in Fort Worth (aka Cowtown). I am just doing friend's, family, and fun cakes right now, but eventually would like to be a full-time decorator.
Southeast of Houston here, in a little place on Galveston Bay.
There are a lot of Texas CC'rs and we should be hearing from them as the thread continues.
Lea, ~~Texas Born and Texas Bred and When I Die I'm Texas Dead!
I'm in Houston in the Montrose area. I have a kitchen approximately the size of a small closet!
I'm in Houston in the Jersey Village area(290 @ Jones).
I know there are more of us out there. Post up!
I'm in Rowlett. Close to Wylie, Richardson, Plano and Dallas (for the ladies above). I'm just getting started too, but it sure is nice to be able to contribute the cause if its for Texans.
I work in an office in North Dallas where even our light sconces and switch plates have stars on them. Big Texas theme going on here.
Houston here--Bellaire/Meyerland area.
Trying to swim today in all this rain--got stuck in the Med Center --wha a nightmare!
Wow. Just got back home and it's great to see all the Texas bakers.
Wow again--- from looking all your photo albums there's alot of talent in this state! Of course, being the largest state there should be (if all the ice in Alaska melted, it would only be the size of Rhode Island!LOL!)
Looks like most of you are north and south of me--Ft.Worth/Dallas/Plano and Houston area. Anyone from Central Texas? I know one lady is from Waco--but can't remember who.
OK--Cake Carousel---never heard of it. Please, more information--where is it, what do they have, are they open 24-7 ?

Well I have been known to be quite the stalker so bring it on Elle.
Hey ya'll! Tarkington Prairie/Cleveland, TX here! Just northeast of Houston. Originally from La Porte, Tx.

diane,
I thought all of Texas allowed separate kitchens for home bakers--they have to be separate, not your "home" kitchen. The kitchen has to have a separate entrance to the house, not connected to any living quarters or access to living quarters. Such as, a detached garage or a converted garage where the door to the house has been sealed/ removed and a separate outside door installed. Waco, Tx. allows these kitchens.
San Marcos is just a few miles south of Austin--commuting distance.
