Yayyy Corpus! I've only seen one other person on here from Corpus! Lots of Houston bakers here!
San Antonio here! Can't believe there aren't more of us from SA, what with it being the 8th largest city (and counting) in America and all....

I'm from Odessa.....Nothin but tumbleweeds and pumpjacks here ;-P
I'm from Odessa too. Aren't those tumbleweeds great for building snowmen?
I'm from fort worth or like my kids say funky town,
I love decorating cakes as a hobby and dream of one day working in a bakery
Hi ya'll. I live in Midland. Been living here for a year now. My husband's job brought us here. We moved here from Katy. So my fellow Houstonians and surrounding cities my heart goes out to you with all that bad weather you've having. I don't miss those days, but I sure miss the city and sometimes the rain. It doesn't rain out here so much. Very windy and a lot of dust and tumbleweeds as someone from Odessa said. We lived in Katy for 5 years. But we are originally from the Rio Grande Valley(born and raised), Roma, to be exact. I am very new to cake decorating and have lots to learn but I would love to get together with fellow CCer's from the Permian Basin area and talk cake. email me or PM me whenever you like.

Hi - I am in Chicago - but am planning to move to Friendswood TX (as soon as we can sell this house!). I am hoping to start taking some cake decorating classes because I REALLY want to start doing this as more than a hobby (if any ounce of skill emerges). Does anyone know what the rules are in Friendswood - ie. I understand that a separate kitchen is required, but is there any exception for "occasional cake baking/decorating"? I remember someone mentioning an exception related to 'occasional cake baking' (different thread, different state).
Another McKinney resident here!! Been here for almost 10 years (time flies!), lived in Austin (Cedar Park) too - great town, we miss the hill country and the lakes
Anyone going up to Oklahoma in Sept for the cake show?!
Hey y'all!! I'm in a deep East Texas town called Lumberton. That's about 6 miles north of Beaumont.
I'm loving this thread!!!!
Another one here in McKinney - I actually live about two streets away from cakesbyallison (my emergency cake pan connection and cake mentor whether she likes it or not, sorry Allison) - our boys have played together since they were two, and our high school seniors met in the 3rd grade! I am Texas born thanks to a dad in the Army, and consider myself from Austin because that's where I'd lived the longest (16 years) before moving to the DFW area.
i live in the woodlands, north of houston! anyone else near me??
I live right next to ya! I'm also a December baby!
I'm northeast of Austin in Hutto. I took the first 3 wilton courses back in 2002. I started decorating again this year, after a 5 year break when I volunteered to do my friend's wedding cake. I took the fondant and gumpaste class last month.
For the folks that live on the North side of town, there's a couple more supply shops! Make-A-Cake is great and so is Amazing Cakes-just so far away. I haven't been to the Sugarland store. I here alot of nice things about the owner.
290/Beltway 8 Area-Roses's Cake Depot 713-466-8014. An etremely small store. Will work with you to get you what you want.
My favorite-I love the owner, is S & J Bakery & Supplies -281-586-0902: 1960/Veterns Memorial. A small store but she will work with you to get whatever you want. And she's open on Monday!
Happy shopping!
Hey y'all! Can't believe I didn't' see this post sooner. But with school starting, I'm not online as much as I would like anymore. I'm in a tiny town about equal distance between Corpus and Sugarland.
Going to Houston tomorrow to build up my stash of supplies! I was originally planning to go to just one new shop(usually go to Cake Craft Shoppe). But now that my mom has offered to pick up the kids from school, that opened up a few more hours! Trying to figure out my "conquer map".
Hello everyone I am from Fresno, Tx between Pearland and Sugar Land. I go to all the cake place that was mention on the Soutwest side and also Larry's in Pasadena.
November Baby !!!!
Dayton, Texas here...Kenefick really for those who know the area and no I am not married to my brother (local joke yall)
Did not know there were so many CCers in my area. We need to get together some time. Heck we might even already know each other.
Hi Im a native Austin-ite, uprooted and planted in the Victoria Texas area.
Beautiful area... any other fellow bakers in Victoria... so far as I know Im the only one haha.
It'd be nice to have someone to talk cake with once in a while.
Have a great day
Kim
I think its awesome to be here with so many of my Texas friends!
I posted earlier in the thread, but i am from Denver City, north of Midland/Odessa. Tiny, dusty, little oilfield town. Yes, I live in the armpit of Texas. I would love to move to the pretty part. (anything south of here)
Shelly
Hey there shivs here is a formal invite to move to Victoria. Its the crossroads of San Antonio Houston and Austin 2 hours each way. Its still got that small town feel with the big town ammenities.
So come on DOWWWWWNNNN!!!!
Anyone near Houston who would like to do a wedding cake Nov. 10, check out this thread!
