I've been working on three fair entries, and I missed the deadline for my paperwork! The ywill not let me enter! I thought they had to be there by tomorrow, but it was yesterday. The three cakes I was going to enter would have done well! I know they would have icon_cry.gif They were very WOW cakes! I could cry! I wanted to have everyone here see what I could do icon_cry.gif Why did I not double check the dates!!!!!

Oh my. Try not to be soo hard on yourself. Maybe that was going to be too big of a load of work for you? Sometimes things happen for a reason...I know that sounds cliche but, it's true. Maybe next year everything will be perfected and you will win 1st place on all of them!
OR maybe there's someone you can talk to! It's just ONE Day! Go higher up!

I can imagine how frustrated you are, but maybe if you show us pictures of the cakes we can make you feel a tiny bit better. Also, I'm already envious of you for making THREE cakes that you feel very good about. To me that is a huge accomplishment!

I'm planning on calling this morning to see if Ican drop it off there today. If they won't let me, I'm still finishing two of the three cakes I had planned for portfolio pics. The third was going to be the sunken ship cake in my photos, so I won't do it since I already have a pic of one. I just wanted to enter so badly to show people here that there are styles of decorating out there besides buttercream swags! It's my own fault though for not paying attention!

Jen...are these dummy cakes? If so.... save them and enter in the fair the next county over when it starts! I had the same thing happen to me last year...I thought I would DIE. I worked my butt of and then realized I missed the deadline on entry. Thankfully it was a dummy cake and I waited and entered it in the next county over...well was 2 cakes actually....and entered one in intermediate and one in Professional...took both blue ribbons...YAY! If not give it one more shot to go to someone else and try to get them in there!

Yes, they are dummy cakes. I didn't know you could enter fairs that you weren't residents of the county! Thanks! I'll look into it!

Yep...well...I dont know about some counties...but I am originally from the next county over, so when this happened I always go to that fair anyway to see old friends etc...so I gave them a call and they didn't care what county you were from so I just ran them over there. I hope it works out for you.
