Hello alracntna, I'm in the Dallas area, and am familiar with Bryan (I was married to an Aggie and lived in College Station many years ago). I would love to come to your DOS, but am not able to drive that distance. Sure wish I could though. The DOS sounds like a really fun thing to do! Janice

According to mapquest, it's about 2 and a half hours straight across (it becomes hwy 6 in Cameron; I don't know what road that is in Ft. Hood. You can't tell according to the map.) Hope that helps!

Hey TC, sounds great to me.. I was going to spend the night with my SIL in Houston, but I'll stay with you guys if that's ok.. I think you can get government rates too right? If not, let me know because I can and it would save us some money on the room rate .. just let me know and I can start scouting for a room there icon_biggrin.gif

I was hoping that someone would come to the DOS and share with us a real good home made cake mix. i make my own cake batter but it is not soft and moist like i want it to be. i am getting better on my decorating but what good is it if when you take a bite of the cake it breaks your teeth or it is real chewy or just doesnt taste very good? icon_wink.gif anyway if some one who is not going to make it has a good cake mix, please share now so i can try it. last mix i tried was a pinapple cake that i got the recipe from here and it was not good at all. more than half of the cake sat there for days and around here with how big my family is that is a sign that something is not right. TIA
