I haven't really considered going to the convention until just this weekend, when I started thinking that it may be lots of fun and I might learn some new things. I can't see being able to go after this year until who knows when (we are trying to start a family icon_rolleyes.gif ).

So, as a somewhat beginner, wanting to learn more...would it be a good experience? Or is it geared more towards business owners? I someday would like this *hobby* to turn into a more professional avenue.

Also, being that I am late in considering this...the ICES registration office informed me that they hold 10% of the tickets for on-site registrants. If I get there on Wednesday, what are the chances of me NOT getting a ticket? I would hate to travel all the way from California and not be able to attend!

Thanks for any input!

it is definatly something you would benefit from and have a lot of fun with. you will learn so much. It is not geared to only business owners, there are all levels of decorators and all types from those who do it for a hoddy to shop owners.

The tickets they are saying they hold are the demo tickets. You buy demo tickets in addition to registering. You will definatly be abl;e to register to be there and see everything. Some demo's might be full though. They save some of the demo tickets to sell on site. Like we were only able to buy 8 online anyways so if we want more we have to do it when we get there.

if you have a chance to go I would. icon_smile.gif

Registering for the whole convention is very expensive. almost $300. ICES is opening the Gallery Room to the public on Friday and Saturday for $7 per person. There will be over 1000 cakes and show pieces on display.

Just checking in from the conference - demos start tomorrow and I'm very excited. Are there any other CC addicts here that would like to meet? Too bad we didn't set up something in advance..
