I have never heard of banana cake; but I have a good banana bread recipe. It's moist and sweet. If you don't get any help, I'll give you the recipe for banana bread! I don't see why it couldn't be used as cake.

I just add banana liquor when I enhance a white cake mix, and it tastes great.........cream cheese or buttercream both taste good with it.

icon_smile.gificon_smile.gificon_smile.gif Here is my banana cake recipe and it never fails and I bake it on Wednesday or Thursday and is just fine by Saturday or Sunday iced of course.

Banana Cake
1 - yellow box mix
3 - ripe bananas ( mash in bowl with mixer)
1 - cup milk
3 - eggs
1 - teaspoon baking powder

Mash bananas in your mixing bowl quicker. Then add the rest and mix for 2 minutes and place in your pans and bake.
I use regular buttercream on my cakes. If you can find clear raspberry flavoring it is fantastic in your buttercream on banana cake.

Hope this helps.

i just made a yummy banana cake this weekend! It came out really good! Just remember to sift the flour at least 3 times-- I followed some of the advise of the reviewers and cut back on the butter/margarine and it was not greasy at all! Let me find the link:.....

oh, By the way, I changed the servings to 36 (there is a place on the page to do that) and it was enough to make a 2 layer 6" cake and a 2 layer 4" cake. covered both in CC frosting-- soo good! HTH!
