I am needing to make a lime green color on a cake...any advise on what colors to mix? I have a standard green color, should I mix yellow in with it?

I think adding yellow might work. When I needed lime green for a couple cakes, I used my left over Wilton Strawberry Shortcake green from my DD birthday cake. I just added a little more of it than I did with Strawberry and got lime green.

Mix in tiny amounts of lemon yellow with the green until you get the color you want

Americolor gels also makes a electric green colored food gel. If you have time to order it, that would work for you too.

There is a list here in the galleries under the "sketches & templates" section which had a moss green color. Thats 2 parts violet & 3 parts lemon yellow. It looks kinda like a lime green....heres the link

I just recently made lime green for that Shrek cake and yes I added yellow to green icing. I tested a small amount to get the right lime I was looking for.

Hope you find this helpful!

I just 2 parts of Lemon Yellow to 1 part Leaf Green. Adjust accordingly.

The easiest way is JenWith's suggestion. It is a beautiful lime green too I might add! icon_biggrin.gif

I agree. Makes a really nice bright green color.
