Just passing through and thought i would say hi!
and welcome to CC!!!
I just want to say HI too!

I live up on the gold coast and am also starting my business slowly but surely. I started doing cakes for friends and family but one day decided to take my cakes to the farmers markets....WOW what a response!!! It took a lot of cold early mornings but was totally worth every second!
Also take your portfolio to wedding planners, I have found I get a lot of work through them!

Good Luck!!!

Hey ya all,
What amazing work all of you have..Delicate Lee I love your figures. How do you get them so delicate and standing. Do you use tylose or cmc in the fondant? Oh and go the Tigers (yes I know they are out)hehehe
Mmmmmcake I think you would get heaps of great comments on your cakes if you turned on your comments section. You have some great work

Thank you gingerkitten for the course list. That was very helpful. I now see one near me.

Anyhoo, have a great night guys, (can confidently say that since you are all in the same country)
And have a great night or morning to those in another country.

Leigh

just realised my comments were off...oopsies!! ...still working my way throught the gallery and finding my feet on this site!
Thank you for your kind words!

Jo, what do you mean you get depressed because you'll never be that good?? Have you looked in your gallery you're cakes are lovely and check out the TMNT one. The thing about Planet Cake is the cost of their classes, often only one or two days for $400 +++, I just can't afford that!

There have been some other threads with some info but it would be great with all the new aussies sticking their heads into these threads to be able to swap info with each other. Particularly in regards to suppliers and any info from those who have had to deal with their council in getting approval!

Nice to see some more Aussie's about!

Hi all

This is a great idea , I am always trying to search out Aussies on here as there are a lot of differences in our styles and flavours and names of certain items icon_smile.gif
I have met so many wonderful people and so very very friendly , from all over the world , would be nice to help each other out DOWN UNDER

My door is open if needed

G'day

Hi there fellow Aussies, just thought I say hi too. I still have alot to learn but I only do cakes for family and friends as part of my hobby. I found cc about a year ago and I became addicted. I often get together with sweet_as_tisse so if you are ever near the Grampians drop us a line.
