Cake Extender???

Hi -

I'm a newbie here and I seen people mention cake extender - not to be clueless or anything but was is a cake extender?

Hi! Welcome to CC!
There is a recipe on this site for the cake mix extender. It's additional ingredients that you add to your cake mix (in addition to the regular ingredients) that will give you additional batter. Your regular cake mix plus the extender will give you the equivalent of one and one half cake mixes.

Cake Mix Extender is found under the recipe section. Just do a search for it. I love it. Because I'm still learning it gives me a whole 8 inch round cake to torte and throw in the freezer, when I have extra time (yeah right), I take it out and fill and then decorate.

It's just ingredients that you add to a box mix to doctor it up a little bit. It makes the cake a little more dense...here's the link to the recipe
