I know alot of us like the NFSC recipe or Penny's recipe, but I'm curious who has tried cookies from other establishments and how they liked them?

I'll start ... a few years ago I ordered from elenis.com. Cookies were really nicely packaged in a tin with an outter cardstock 'wrapper.' Those tins aren't cheap. They definitely put a lot of care into their packaging and presentation. The cookies were just as beautiful as shown on their web-site. They tasted good - a crisper cookie - at the time I remember thinking how much they tasted like those danish butter cookies that you can get in the tins around the holiday time. Icing was all royal.

Anyone else? Oh, and yes, we should try keep this thread as positive as possible. I don't want to hurt any businesses out there!

I have ordered from adozeneggs.com because I saw them on a food network program and I really like the idea of doing "tins" of cookies rather than baskets, etc.... and wanted to see how they shipped theirs.
Loved the packaging right off the bat. Sounds a lot like the packaging Eleni's uses as well. Nice tine with a colorful cardboard sleeve.
The cookies were beautifully decorated (all royal) and had a really nice flavor to them. The only surprising thing was the size of them. Didn't expect them to be as small as they were. Not neccessarily a bad thing-just a different product than what I offer.

I love Cheryl & Co.'s cookies. I am still trying to find a cookie & frosting recipe that tastes like these cookies. SO GOOD!!

My very favorite store bought sugar cookies were made by Mothers Cookie Company, they were in a bag, numeral shapes, very buttery and sprinkled with sugar. I loved these and now can't find them anywhere, so I assume they have stopped making them. They still make a round sugar cookie but it doesn't taste the same.

millicente - I don't think there was anything 'extra' special about Eleni's royal icing. The taste is what you would expect if you made a batch yourself. I'm not sure about the cookie recipe - it was a crisper cookie and had a nice after taste. I think I once read that the recipe was handed down from her grandmother. I will say this ... and this is only based on my personal preferences, I prefer the taste of the NFSC or Penny's w/a glaze (sort of like my cookies tee hee!).

I want to let everyone know about Cookiesncream.com also. I received a bouquet from them a couple of years ago ... and I will say they were the most talented cookies I have EVER seen (next to Nancy's Fancys, that is). The bouquet was well packed for protection. Their cookies were pretty thick (like Cookies by Design) and seemed to be more of a gingerbread recipe than a sugar cookie. All icing was done with royal. I've exchanged a few e-mails w/them in the past - they are incredibly nice! A family & friend run business. If you haven't checked out their website - you will be AMAZED by their talent and creativity!!

i'd love to order from nancy, but i probably couldn't afford it. i know how much goes into them!! LOL

Just received cookies from OURCOOKIE.COM. I was curious to know if they looked as good in person as they do on the website, and the answer is - yes, they most certainly do. They dip the cookie in frosting first, and then add the icing. Although my kids said they prefer a vanilla sugar cookie, I enjoyed the flavor and texture of their cookies. They were more of a spice cookie with a slight chew in the middle and all royal for frosting. Shipping for 6 cookies was cheap (< $7) and was quick. I can honestly say that if I was in a pinch for party cookies, I would order from them.

It looks like the whole cookie is dipped, right? Did it make them hard to bite into?

The top of the cookie is dipped and a little bit extra gets on the back of the cookie. I don't think it made it any different than biting into any other cookie covered in royal, though.

It is great to learn about these companies that I haven't heard of before!!! Great sites!
