Good Morning Ladies!
I am going to buy a mixer icon_biggrin.gif (first one) and Mervyn's has a 300 w Kitchen Aid for $199; however, I found the below one on Sams website (700w) for $179. Anyone have any thoughts as to which one is better. My husband is saying go with the Kitchen Aid........... I just wanted to y'alls opinion! icon_smile.gif

I know nothing about Wolfgang Pucks' but like your hubby, I say go with the Kitchen Aid. Their specialty is making mixers.

Hello,

PM Boo-Boo. She bought a Wolfgang mixer a few months ago. She loves it. It only cost her around $175 & she got a lot of other things including. She raves about it a lot. So PM her. She'll be glad to help out~

I have a Kitchenaid, 325 watt and I have a Wolfgang Puck, 700 watt.....I use them both alot, but for the heavier stuff like, BC icing and royal icing, I only use the Wolfgang....I absolutely LOVEit.......I don't know what I would do without it.

Great topic BJFranco! They have the Wolfgang Puck mixer you pictured above locally at our Sam's and I was wondering the same thing. Seems you get more mixing power as well as optional attachements with the WP one. However, I've definitely heard the stories of other mixers going haywire while the Kitchen Aide keeps right on going! I think I may end up with one after a few more posts...thanks for bringing this up! icon_lol.gif

Well, I asked my instructor and she said that she has heard good things and and bad things from other students about the Wolfgang so that really did not help me. I went to the HSN website and read a few post, mostly thumbs up post; however, the one that stuck with me was that Wolfgang does not repair them. The guy that posted said the home office told him to just buy another, newer model one. They also mentioned about the paint coming off the paddles. I went to Wolfgang's main website and did not find a number to call.

I left before I saw any responses from you guys and I ended up buying the Kitchen Aid.... Long story short.

Mervyn's had a $397 regular priced Heavy Duty 5 Quart Kitchen Aid on sale for $199, plus you got a $10 gift card. The employees and 2 managers could not find one so they gave us the discount right there plus some as we walked out paying $185. PLUS, I have a $20 mail in rebate that Mervyns had posted, so that brings the grand total down to $165. Pretty good price, I think. Needless to say my husband was pleased, as well.

OH, Mervyn's only stocks 2 of the Heavy Duty ones and the rest are the flip top ones that normally sell for $254 and they kept trying to seel us that one and my husband kept saying that was not the same one listed in the sales paper, so my husband had to dig to the back of the pile to find it. thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for all the responses,
