I have been reading your comments on cooking sugar and it reminded me about a party I went to. The hostess had these chocolate appetizers(?) that were on sugar sticks/wands. they were in all different colors with different flavors of candy chocolate. I figured she used the melts for the designs but anybody know how she might have made the wands?? They were wider than a toothpick but not as wide as a skewer, and about two inches long. I'm making a cke for my daughters birthday with a fairy theme and just thought it would be cool if I could add wands to the cake fairies. Just curious. Thanks for any help. Everyone here is teaching me a lot. I'm a total newbie icon_rolleyes.gif

she prob. just used a pulled sugar recp. It gets like taffy kinda and you can stretch, cut and shape it into any shape really. a little wand would be easy to do. Or she used poured sugar and some kind of mold. I have the recp. for both let me know if you want one of them, but for pulled you will need some equipment like a heat lamp and a sil pad (and some gloves would be nice hahah it gets hot)

It was clear and hard. She may have gotten it out of a mold. They looked really cool though. Yes I would love a recipe if you're willing to share. You can pm it to me or if you would rather e-mail let me know and I'll pm you my address. Thanks a bunch
