You said your cakes were hard or dry.

I provided links that explained the use of a sugar wash on dry cakes with recipes and comments. icon_smile.gif

Hi prcakes,

Here you can make Your own syrup. take 1/2 cup of water and then 1/2 brandy or any liquor then add karo surup let it boil then let it stand for cooling for about 15 min then poor on cake this helps.

For future cakes after you take your cakes out of the oven pun it on a cooling rack but make sure you get a bad and cover the cake do not let the hot steam come out this will keep the cake moist and let it stand for about 1 hour or until the cake is completely is cool. Good Luck.

Ps where are you from Puerto Rico??
Michelle ") Good Luck
