I just got an order for two cupcake cakes. They will be pretty simple with a buttercream transfer and buttercream icing. I tried pricing this using the matrix but am not sure how you would get the correct price. The cupcakes won't take as long to decorate as individual ones and it won't take a much icing as a regular sheet cake since I won't be icing the sides.

Any thoughts or suggetions are welcomed!

I charge the same price as a comparable sheet cake. 15 cupcakes is about a 1/4, 30 is about 1/2 etc... Since it is being decorated like a sheet cake or character cake, I charge the same that I would for those cakes! icon_biggrin.gif

I agree with MelodyAngel...Figure out the size it would be in a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full Sheet cake and charge what you would for those. AND DONT let people try to talk you lower because they will be like but it's just a couple dozen cupcakes and you are charging me THAT? Believe me they will do it too!

When you think about it, you probably spend more time baking and icing the individual cupcakes than you would a sheet cake. You should be compensated for your time and skill whatever you make!!

Thanks for all the input. I was leaning towards pricing these like a regular cake and am happy to see others confirm my guess!
