Elle <~~~ Busy trying to sculpt a large a$$ cake with lips on it. Cream cheese of course
Hope you get your wish and she's outta there! Then you can make her a good-bye cake, covered in fondant, that looks like a Philadelphia Cream Cheese box.

Make sure you outline that sucker in "Ruby Red Kissable Revlon Color Stay Lipliner"!!!

Or better yet - get a dozen ACTUAL cream cheese pkgs, RI them together, then cover them with fondant and decorate them all over with your cool Fun Factory flowers!!!
Ooh so SugarFrosted, what was Colette's advice on the pleats???
First, I want to quote Duff here... "No one here has ever worked in a bake shop before, so there are a lot of things we don't know how to do."
Personally I think that was an amazingly brave thing for him to say on national TV. But at $500 starting price on their cakes, they must be doing something right.
Now to answer your question:
Duff said "Colette says there's two methods. One is the "Team Method" (this is SugarFrosted talking here....I assume that means two people working...wth else could it mean?)
and the other is to make a BIG sheet of fondant pleats and wrap the whole cake tier with it."
They did the sheet of pleats. The cake turned out beautifully, just like everything else they do at Charm City Cakes. I wanna work there

I'll come help you! I just picked up my shiney new Play-Douh Fun Factory tonight after searching all over for one!!!
I say send a cake over to welcome her to her new department!!!
Ok that ROCKS!!
What good is cream cheese icing if you can't taste the cream cheese? I'd hate to try her cheesecake, and I hope she never invites me over for a bagel breakfast.

you know i am obsessed with this thread as well....first one i look at in the morning before looking at others....
i say definately make her a "good bye and good luck cake" and make another with "welcome to your new dept" and some more cute ones with cute good luck sayings....this way you can show her all the WONDERFUL cakes and designs "You" ( a hobbiest with less than 20 years expirence) can do with cream cheese!!!! and how she is right....NOBODY can certainly be on "her level"!!!!!! hahahahahahaha!!!! that would just be it....to show up with a bunch a little- to medium cakes!!!! hahahahhahahaha!!!!
can you imagine how everyone in the office would sound to her.....'OMG this CREAM CHEESE CAKE...IS THE BEST I'VE EVER TASTED"!!!!! HAHAHAHA i know....i am not trying to rub it in...but there was no reason for her to be so rude to you!!!!!!!

Good one! But --
Should that be one or two weeks after she sends over the
Good Luck, Sorry To See You Go cake to her current department?
LOL!

I didn't bring a cake in today. I have been feeling pretty bad lately! We're supposed to know by next Friday if she gets the position. She's not the only one who put in for it. My DH suggested a Wizard of Oz themed cake if she does end up leaving. "Ding Dong the Witch is Gone!" he'd had a couple. . . This has been so funny! I lead the most ordinary, drama free life. Finally some entertainment!

Loving this thread!
I second every evil thought and idea expressed in the last 11 pages. I vote that you do them ALL.
I am a few pages behind here, but as to the "you extended the olive branch.....yadda yadda.....so I say F*** her!" comment. I believe that is found in first Debi 2:10 LMAO
Secondly I definitely think you should make her a cake...either way it goes, if she leaves or not. Of course in Cream cheese! Hee hee.....I like your DH's wizard of oz cake idea.if she doesn't get the job ......you could do a yellow brick road, with a little house on it and feet sticking out. The house could have the name of your department, at the end of the road it could have the new departments name.....and you could say something like: "sorry you didn't get a chance to follow your yellow brick road!" ooo I crack myself up! [/code]
I just don't understand why people are so rude these days. I'm convinced that most of us are unhappy, either marriage, kids, or job (or a combo of all 3). I find so many people pushing others around and saying so many mean-spirited things...and to CHILDREN! I can't tell you what adults have said to kids at the park. Sorry you have to work with such a person.
Don't stop taking cakes in!!!
You have every right to take your cakes to work, whether she likes it or not.

LMAO! Oh we are on a whole new level now!
Okay. So I've been really icky sick for several days now which has put me in a very nasty mood. I am generally easy going. I had a run in at HL yesterday, my microwave (4 weeks old) went out, blah, blah, blah. Bad week! Anywho, I went into the office this am and there stood MT. I had been there about an hour and was feeling friendly so I asked her if she had been busy with cakes. She says, "Oh lord yes." I just can't keep my head above water sometimes." I say, "Good for you! Sounds like your cakes are bringing in quite a bit of extra money!" I thought we were getting somewhere until she says. . ."If you really want tips from me I've got one for you." I cautiously said, "Sure, I'm always up for pointers." She says, "You need to stop bringng your cakes on uncovered cake circles. It looks tacky and unprofessional. No one else will mention it because they don't know how gauche it really is." I explained that I don't use anything else because my cake is an hour away from being devoured by the time I have finished decorating it. I am not going to spend more $$ on something just to make it more pleasing on the eye! I have not sold these to anyone and they were not for a special occasion, otherwise I would have used somehing else!" I went on to let her know that if that was the kind of tips she had for me to keep them to herself! Hope that bi@#ch is gone soon. I also hope she chokes on her CCF as she walks out the door. I'm over it. I won't be wasting my valuble oxygen by uttering one word to that ogre. Not one word!
Elle
ok after reading the latest I say make her a cake that looks like a bottle of midol because she has the worst case of PMS I have ever heard of...what a...well you know

We had an evil witch in our office one time. On the anniversary of her "demise" I brought in Devil Food cake. It was a big hit and was so appropriate.
I'd make her cake a big green cat!! Green for the envy and a cat, of course, for all her cattiness! Oh yeah, and a witch's hat on its head!!!
I mastered the pile o' poop cakes last week.
If you need to recreat it I'll gladly tell you our secrets to making it look pretty darn real.
well good for you... i am sorry that that old prune is such a "fun sucker" as my kids would say....i guess nobody ever taught her manners!!! boo for her!!! u know it is nice to know that no matter how bad or unappealing your cakes look to her...that everyone still "oohhhhsss and aaaahhhssss" over it!!!! sorry this "witch" is so mean!!!! you just keep up the good work and making the world (or at least your office) a better more happier place to be!!!!!
She got the transfer!!!!!!! Can anyone say ? I wasn't in the office today so I couldn't be part if the joy! (MT was not well liked in the office)As I said before MT is not legal, which doesn't bother me. My friend in the office Julie (who I have explained the "legal baking" thing to) really got MT's goose after she announced she was in fact leaving. Julie says to MT. . .we were going to have a little party for you and Elle was going to make a cake but she's busy this week. She has her first paying customer. Isn't that great? . . .Julie says MT was like and only said,"Oh really?". I am dying inside wih laughter. I wasn't even there but I got the last word! MUAH HAHAHA. Even though what Julie said was not the truth, I worried for just a minute thinking MT would try to turn me in. She can't do that. . .If she did, she'd have to decide if she was the pot or the kettle! Let em' come if she does. . .I'll make her look even more out of her mind!I love the ending to this story. So long MT, so long!
Life IS Good,
Elle

Yay for the transfer!! And LOL at your last word in edgewise! Now you can get on with your cake art in peace!
I am going to miss this thread and its updates when she is gone, though.
Congratulations on her transfer! Good riddance to bad trash!
So, have you decided what cake you'll be sending to her at her new deptartment?
