Someone just ordered a alligator shaped cake from me. It's for October 14th. I told her I would do it or try. I have never done one, but I figure I give it a try since it's an opportunity for me to experiment doing something new. Please help! Do any of you have done a cake like this, please advise.
Thanks

hmmm . . . maybe try the oval pans? for the head, with some carving. use cupcakes for the eye part, and carve the legs & tail out of a sheet cake? I'm just brainstorming here - I've never done it! good luck.

I did one not long ago. It wasnt great, but here are some pictures to get an idea how to cut it. I used two rectangular cakes. One smaller than the other.

Here is the finished product.
