Hubby say .75 for Halloween cookies...??

ok , so i baked some halloween cookies tonight.. I got the Wilton set of 3 cookie cutters...pumpkin, cat, gost, ...when they came out of oven i asked what he thought and at first he said .50...then he said .75. I dont know what to do..i have never made and sold cookies like this before. Im always scared that im going to either be too high or too low ( i go through this w/ my cakes too ) But anyways the ones that i have so far i have "iced" w/ orange candy melts and i am going to ice the rest tomorrow w/ antonias icing...so should i go with his price of .75? im going to be selling them at the local Farmers Market on Sat. its giving me a headache just thinking about it. icon_mad.gif what would you guys do?

How big are they? I mean if they are a large cut out, and you have detailed it, I would say $1.00, or say 3/ $2.50.

I agree, charge more than 75cts! For that I would get hubby to make them himself icon_twisted.gificon_lol.gificon_razz.gif !

I wouldn't charge less than a dollar for ANY decorated cookie!!!

Thanks yall...I needed some back up for this one..LOL...thats what i should have told him...you make them and decorate them and then tell me how much to charge for them after you roll cookie dough for hours...lmao

I am charging about $2 for 3" Halloween cookies. I have to hand decorate and wrap them. In the begining I charged only $1 and took a loss on wrapping material and most important my time.

I agree on the size could change things, but for a Farmers Market, everyone expects to pay even a little more! I'm willing to pay more at these places because I know it's either a small business, or going to a good cause. The way I figure it, if you're not willing to pay more at these places, stay home or don't buy it! But those of us that appreciate the work, WILL buy it and appreciate it! Don't undersell yourself!

I am making cookies for a bake sale at the Moose in November. I was going to do sugar cookies. I have the Wilton 101 cookie cutter set. They have cute fall leaves. I don't want to get into the detail of turkeys. I thought I would put 3 in a package for $2. I'm doing the maple and oak leaves in fall colors with the leaf "veins" piped on, also plain orange pumpkins with the green stem. Not much detail so $2 should be a fair price. It's a good cause so I think people are willing to pay more.

I'm hoping it will get my name out there for orders for Christmas!!

Here the price for non-dec'd homemade cookies (choc chip, etc) is around $3 for 6. Starbucks big dec'd cookies are $1.75 (and they are cute, too!) HTH

I have to charge extra because I don't buy in bulk like a Starbucks. If I did I imagine my DH would icon_cry.gif Our kitchen is too small but we are working on plans to expand. Crossing my fingers!

I just saw some sugar cookies this evening at Kmart in Superman and Cinderella and they wanted $1.49 each cookie.

Just thought I'd share this price.

How big are the cookies? .75 sounds a little on the low side unless they are tiny!

I sell decorated sugar cookies for $2-$7 depending on the design and size. My regular cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, ect) I sell for $1.25 each. I've never had a soul complain....they usually come back for more!! Don't undersell yourself! If you put .75 on it then potential customers will think there is nothing special about them...because they are only .75!!

Last year I decided to spend $25 on a 12" gingerbread cookie cutter (dh thought I had really lost it) thinking if I sold ONE that would pay for the cutter. So there I am at the shop decorating this HUGE gingerbread man when a guy walks in and can't believe how big that cookie is. He said "how much is it, $40?" I said you guessed right on the money....and he took it! Then people he knew started calling...I sold like 40 of those cookies and have people calling already for this year! ....and I would have undersold myself at $25!!!! Who would have thought...
