Okay, here is my first official entry to the cookie club.....every month I see all of your wonderful cookies and I never have a reason to make cookies and can't afford to have cookies laying around all the time lol (I'll eat them all!!) Okay, so here goes.......I got the idea for this cookie from rollingpin productions......theirs are waaayy better but I tried and my son was thrilled with taking them to school to give to everyone in his class.

KHalstead, those ROCK!!

Ok, I am going to break one of the cookie club rules and post my cookies even though I already posted them in my gallery 2 days ago (this is a differnet pic though). I didn't find this thread before I posted them or I would have not made that mistake. I won't do it again! I promise!! Please don't kick me out!! icon_wink.gif This is also my first post for the cookie club, but I can see me getting addicted to it because I LOVE frosted sugar cookies! One of my weaknesses! I can scarcely compare to some I've seen here, but I have fun doing it and that's all that matters. (Besides, these were just for me to eat! Yay!!)

Oh, I wish I would have seen this sooner. I made some cookies for my Mom - teal ribbons for Ovarian Cancer. I bought 2 piece cutters from Kitchen Krafts (then found out they are from Foose)... Anyway, it was my first attempt at NFSC and Antonia's frosting. They turned out great!!! Problem was, we ate them all before I remembered to take a picture! Maybe I'll do some more tonight and take a picture.

KH- I always use BC on my cookies because I don't personally care for the stuff that gets crunchy! (Texture issue, I have lots of those!) icon_wink.gif The colors are actually just Wilton. I am waiting for them to all run out so I can try the brands I have learned about here that people swear by. Thanks for the compliments, after seeing your Dracula I wasn't sure I wanted to post mine!! Sheesh, yours are awesome! But... mine is cartoonish and yours is totally old-Hollywood, so it's not a good comparison, right? Hehe! I LOOOVE yours!

Is anyone able to tell me when the next month cookie club thread will start? In other words, when can we find out what the monthy theme will be? And how are the theme's picked? (Ok, October, November, and December are pretty much a given for part of it, but you know what I mean!!) I am really interested in participating more and I'd like to know how/when to watch for you all! This is too much fun!!

okay, I don't know if anyone's voted for their favorite but I'm gonna put it out there...I vote for TiffTurtle's

1. Because the cookies are very neatly decorated and ADORABLE

and 2. Because her signature line is from a Chris Tomlin song and I love Chris Tomlin LOL

I didn't know there was voting? icon_confused.gif I thought it was just a club to "refine" one's skills?

lol.......I dunno when it first started they said to put your cookies in the thread and not the regular gallery until it expired so that everyone had a chance to see them and pick their favorites LOL I don't think it meant that there was an organized vote per say...but usually everyone always kinda says which were there favorites

From my understanding, the cookie club was started as a way for people to share and be creative with cookies, not as a contest of any sort.

We have such a wonderful, supportive community here on CC and I think because of that many people comment about cookies that they see in the thread that they like, offer encouragement, share tips, etc. But the cookie club is NOT a contest. It was designed to share thougths, ideas and creations - more like a book club than a contest - and make cookies just for the fun of it. We just pick a theme each month and post in one thread, so that everyone can easily see the participants' cookies related to that theme.

It was Cake_Princess' idea originally, not mine (although I loved the idea the moment I heard it) so forgive me if I've misunderstood...

Bonnie - That's what I was hoping it was. I'm not interested in choosing favorites. I just like seeing all of the new creative cookies! And I love seeing what ideas everyone comes up with to follow along with the theme.

KHalstead - I don't wanna knock heads or anything, but I like how the cookie club is not a contest and everyone can submit without having the pressures of voting/picking favorites floating in the back of their minds. thumbs_up.gif

I'm sorry if I'm stepping on anyone's toes....

no, no... not to worry!

If there was confusion about this being a contest, it's good that we now have it clarified!

I know I'm WAY late posting this, but I did do October cookies, and I just got them off my camera this weekend!

The caramel apple "coating" is a mixture of royal icing and caramel ice cream topping. It really did dry enough to stack (after 3 days).

Sorry for being so late!!

Those apples look delicious Bonnie! I'm pretty sure I would've never known that they dried after 3 days, because they would've been eaten way before that! icon_wink.gif
