I personally have never had a red velvet cake and I've never made it. I saw a post previously about how to fix up duncan hines red velvet cake mix. most said they added pudding and other tips and I really would appreciate if you could share that again with me! Thanks icon_biggrin.gif

I just did a search of the forums for Red Velvet Box and came up with quite a few topics that might have more information for you but the following are two of the first couple I checked and they might help you.

I use Duncan Hines Red Velvet and make it by adding to the box mix:

1 box of white chocolate (or milk chocolate) instant pudding mix, 4 large eggs, 1 c. buttermilk, 1/3 cup of oil.

It gets rave reviews--very moist-- and it's a beautiful shade of red when cut.

I use the doctored cake mix from the cake mix Dr.
-1 box german choc cake mix (with pudding added in it)
-1 cup of sour cream
-1 tsp vanilla
-3 eggs
-1/2 cup of water
-1/4 cup of oil
-1 oz of red food coloring

It is very moist and suitable for any wedding cake or tiered cake. I think you will like it! Add cream cheese icing with it and your people will love it!!!

No, I use the powdered cake mix from the box and add only the things I listed above.
