Since I don't have time to find egg pans, I kept looking online for other options and found this one. Try baking a small cake in a bread loaf pan and cutting it diagonally. Then shave the triangle sections down to make the drum sticks.

Try a round glass bowl like Pyrex to bake the top part and shave.

Happy Thanksgiving thumbs_up.gif

I was going to do this for my family, but ran out of time. i was going to use the football pan and trim down wtih other 1/4 sheets underneath. This would have been smaller though.

Has anyone actually finished the cake and eaten it yet? I'm wondering if spraying the Karo syrup leaves the cake slimy. It looks shiny, but what does it feel like? It looks so real, but I want to be able to assure everyone it will still taste good.

i ate mine with the karo.... cant even tell its there. However, i have recently skipped the Karo and the last 2-3 i have made this week i have sprinkled with cinnamon and/or cocoa powder instead. LOVE IT! It actually looks alot better than the Karo, IMO. Easier too! i'm about to add it to my gallery.

Here's my turkey cake that I brought to our family dinner. My nieces liked it a lot better than the real turkey. I used two layers using the 9" round pan, topped with a layer made in a Pyrex bowl. It took forever to get the right color in the frosting. Then I sprayed the tinted Karo syrup mixture with a small spray bottle. Some fresh lettuce and cranberries for garnish. Thanks everyone for all your tips.

Mine is in my pictures. I had lots of trouble getting the right color, I need an airbrush! (Gave me an excuse to hint my family I'd like one).

And now I'm kicking myself... i kept seeing the stickey for "Roasted or Basted Turkey" and I kept thinking to myself that oh... a discussion on the best way to cook a turkey, so I never bothered to click on it! I've for sure missed out! icon_lol.gif

How much would you charge for a cake like this? I made one for work last year (free), but someone asked me to make this cake for their family...and how many servings are in this cake?
