Is My Cake Still Good??

I froze a cake in early October and wrapped it in one layer of heavy duty foil. Do you think it's still useable or should I just toss it??
There's only one way to find out. Thaw it still wrapped.
My guess is it will be freezer burned. Not to the frozen length of time, but due to the way it was wrapped.
I opened it up and there was some ice on one side, but the other three sides were fine. Should I just trim off that side? If it were freezer burned, wouldn't it have looked more that way then just one side? What do you think?
If it were me? Toss it..........I'd rather walk on the side of caution but just my opinion! Happy Baking, Missey
Sounds like the one side was freezer burned. It is possible to have just spots of freezer burn.
Here's how I wrap my cakes for freezing.
Wrap the cake in plastic wrap. Place that inside a brown paper bag or cardboard box (I do cupcakes inside of boxes to keep from damaging the smaller cakes). Place that box inside a larger plastic bag (such as a grocery bag or trash bag. I've never had freezer burn, even after months and it always tastes fresh.
Thaw overnight in it's wrappings.
I should say that we decided to end the speculation and taste it. My husband declared it "surprisingly moist and delicious". I turned it into a (if I do say so myself) very beautiful Valentines themed advertisement cake for him to take to work on Monday. (We were supposed to have a party tonight, but well, it's snowing!)
