Thanks in advance,

I think a mailbox cake would be cute especially if you could find a tall stand to put it on just like a mailbox

How about a postman pitching his bag of letters into the air with letters flying all over? Or, a postman driving his truck with the post office to one side, and a sign reading something like, "easy living", etc., to the other side? I don't know. I guess that I'm thinking like I would feel if I were retiring...I'd be pitching something in the air and doing a jig. LOL. I'm sure that you'll get much better ideas... icon_smile.gif How about one where the postman (the one retiring) is looking out of his window at home...in bathrobe...fuzzy slippers...hot cup of coffee...to see another postman (kind of like his "replacement") on duty in a blizzard? High winds? Dog nipping at his ankles? Just another thought... Looking forward to seeing your finished product pictures! icon_smile.gif

here are a few images, maybe you can do a fbct or a chocolate transfer.

Maybe someone can help with a caption to go with these.

I cant wait to see this cake, my hubby is a Postman.

cakesbyamym your idea of him sitting at home watching someone else work is soo cute and funny. i would get a kick out of a cake like that if i was the 1 retiring.

shh..DH says that the postmaster does nothing.

I knew there would be some great ideas. I do like the one about the man looking out the window, but I do not know if I am that good or not yet. I think I might try it or do the one with him throwing the mail in the air. I will post when I am done.

Thanks again for all the great ideas.

i know this might be late but very late lastnight when i couldnt sleep i came up with this one.

an fbct of a man sitting at a window just leaning on it and then another fbct mailman delivering mail to an fbct mailbox.

i tried looking for a drawing of a man sitting at a window and couldnt find one and i'm no artist. i'm sure this idea is too late anyway. please post a pic of your cake when its done.

How bout this one? (not mine) You could write one of those messages above, like "sending home for good" or maybe "do not return to sender" icon_lol.gif

Well, I posted my picture today it was too big to attach here and I didn't know how to make it smaller. icon_redface.gif It is under celebration/retirement. All of you had some wonderful ideas some was just more difficult than I am ready for and some were too late. I found the picture I did on the internet and the lady that ordered it liked it so I just went with it. It is great to know you can always come to cc and everyone is so willing to help and have such GREAT ideas.

Thanks,
Mitzi
