Why is it that people want topsy turvy fondant cakes or fancy tiered fondant cakes for a celebration, but yet when you charge them like $5/serving including delivery (in a metro area) they never write back???
Because they're used to seeing the cheap prices of cheap cakes in "assembly line bakeries".
Here's what one woman wanted from me for $70 (which is more than she wanted to spend).

That's right !! ..it's only bread and icing isn't it ? that should not be expensive ? so why are you charging too much money ? what is wrong with you ? LOL...i'm just being sarcastic !! I'm on your side !!..
One time a lady who is a friend of a friend asked me to make a three tier wedding cake.. I agreed although I am not in the cake business and I really did not want to.. She asked how much ? I said $100.00 (this was 10 yrs. ago), then she said, is $90.00 ok ? since this is going her gift to the bride who is her sister ? So I said "fine" ! 2 weeks later, I delivered the cake and she handed me a $100.00 bill and ask me if I have change ?
Three months later she asked me if I can make the same cake for a relative of hers, I said "NO", I'm gonna be busy that time "
Sometime makes us wonder , "why do we even bother "?

The cake is great! Around here, I would have gone about $4/serving as drawn...or if she wanted the completely straight box cut corners (where you have to dry the fondant) I would have gone $5/serving. (I buy my fondant).
No need to spend hours and hours for such a small profit.
