Okay - so I started to call my business Sweet Results, not sure why. Don't really like it, have not really used it too much as my business is mostly word of mouth right now. So to change it would not be a big deal.

I need help!! icon_cry.gif I want something cool, not cutsie. And not that I think Duff is the end all be all, but Charm City Cakes is a "cool" name. I don't want my name as part of it.

I prefer to work with fondant and do 3D/stacked cakes, but can do a pretty nice sheet cake. I am in MA suburbs. I just really don't have any good ideas.

I younger friend of mine has been calling me Sugar Mama, but that sounds like it has been done, don't you think? This sounds pathetic but I feel like since I think she is "hip" that it may be considered a "cool" name. Again, very pathetic I know!! icon_razz.gif

Any help???

I think Charm City must be a nickname for Baltimore so maybe go off that....not that i think this is good, but as an example, Beantown Baked Goods

do a google search of Boston/MA/New England nicknames and see waht you get.

Good idea but I agree with you that I don't necessarily like Beantown Baked Goods, it sounds like baked beans and that makes me think of something you don't want associated with your cakes... icon_wink.gif

I'm also not too crazy about Sugar Mama.

Business names are really hard to come up with for me, too. Good luck!

How about.. "Sugar City"
Your Motto can be something like
" Everything I see turns into sugar " or " Everything I touch turns into sugar "
After looking at your cakes.. You could build a city out of cake and sugar with the talent you have!!!
Good Luck!

Ok...so I was tossing around names here and there too. I know you don't want anything cutsie, but I really loved "The Sweet Suite" Then I wanted the website to be www.EnterTheSweet.com.

My father who is in business, hated the name and of course his opinion wins in my life so I didn't use it, but what does he know about cakes?? He's an antique dealer icon_lol.gif I actually don't even have a business yet, but paid $10 to hold the website name of my hopeful business of one day being "Signature Sweets". It's kind of used I know, but there isn't anyone around here that is using anything like it, so I thought I'd stick with it - plus it made dad happy thumbs_up.gif

So maybe it's too cutsie, but I thought it was kind of a play on words and classy. Not to mention, if one day you branch out to do other things like chocolates, cookies, or pulled sugar or anything else, it will definitely fit under that name. Soooo, feel free to use it if you'd like! I'll only charge a home-made cake for the finders fee.....just kidding!! icon_biggrin.gif Good luck!

I love the sound of companies that use a funny play on words like, in your case something....

Hill of Beans Cakes

Knock Your Socks Off Boston Cakes

"It's My Tea Party" Cakes

Beantown Cakery

I always remember those ones. The "Boston Baked Cakes" that was suggested is a great one too!

I was going to post this right before I turned to page 2 of the thread!
I like the casual/southern sound of the Frostin'. Though maybe "Frostin' Boston" could sound kinda cool too.

Good luck!
