Hi. Just wondering if anyone has a list of edible image printers. I am looking to add one to my options for my business, but I need some ideas as to which ones are out there. I heard a lot about the Canons, but when I looked them up, they seemed to be "regular" ink printers. Any help would be great! Thanks!!!!

I don't have one yet, but REALLY want to get one. I'd like advice too.

Might want to look at KOPYKAKE.COM. They have a couple of different systems there.

Checking with KopyKake is a good idea, you have to get a printer (Canon or Epson at this time) for which the edible inks are available. You have to get a new printer and dedicate it only to the edible inks, you can't switch back and forth or use a printer that has ever had regular inks in it.

Buying the "package" deals, IMHO will wind up costing you considerably more than buying the supplies individually. HTH Janice

Go to KopyKake.com. I bought the Epson compatible inks there, downloaded their free software and bought the Epson printer from Staples for about $70. Also bought the sample pack of image sheets.

I LOVE IT!!! I can't say enough about this printer - the best money every spent, software works great for me. My only con is that I can only print up to a 1/4 sheet size (8x10), so think about that. But for what I have been doing this is super! I have a Nemo cake I threw together last weekend, came out ok, but I copied clipart from all different websites, printed them onto 2 pages, cut out each character and put them on the cake -not bad for something quick! Will post it later today. I also made a magazine cover cake last week as well I will post later.

All I can say is - BUY IT! I only use it for edible printing, colors are super, crisp, love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!

Sweetresults - Can you remind us which Epson model you bought ? I think you may have mentioned it a few weeks ago (?) but I don't remember what it is. I want to buy one, too.

Thanks, and glad you really like this printer.

EPSON Stylus C88 - only downside is that it only prints up to 8.5"x11" so if you want an image for a full sheet you need a larger printer. But it works great for me - the size has not been a problem yet. Plus I cut out a lot of what I print instead of laying a full sheet on the cake.

Heck for about $70 you can't beat it!!

Take a few minutes and check out www.icingimages.com The owner, Debbie, is very helpful and can answer any question you may have! That is where I bought my system and get all my supplies.

I wonder if this would be an option for bigger images....I downloaded free software from Google called Picasa - it gives me the ability to increase the size of images and create 'posters' which then have to be pieced together...I have used it for several FBCT images...since I have no experience with the image sheets, I'm not sure if this would work, but i would think you could trim the image to size and then piece it together ont the cake...HTH

I believe that Lisa(Moderator) did just that exact thing but kept it as an edible image and piced it together on her cake.
