I am making a cake for a friends birthday in a few weeks. I want to make the base a very vivid royal blue. My concern is that the blue will bleed onto the guests hands and turn their teeth blue. I have seen this happen in the past and am not sure how to prevent it, or if I am doing something worng to begin with when mixing up the color. Any tips or ideas?

I tell my clients that really bright/dark colours may be better used as the details on the cake...as opposed to the background colour. With teeth-bleaching and chatting at parties, who wants a blue mouth??
It may also mean that fewer guests will actually take a slice, so maybe let her know that the cake she has spent good money on may not be enjoyed by many as many people as she'd like! icon_sad.gif

Some clients listen and others insist they want the colour. Oh well!
