I finally finished this beast........pulled an all nighter on Friday to get it done (unexpected kid problems took me away from it for 1/2 the day on Friday)........it is a bit lopsided toward the left, and my photo taking abilities made it look worse..........but the couple was thrilled, they absolutely loved it..he was snapping pics of me setting it up- my 16-year old step daughter and my 11 and 8 year old girls helped me set it all up...........it had 5 -10" rounds to go with all different flavors and fillings.........
**Forgot to mention THANK YOU to all of you who answered my questions on this one! I could not have done this without the help of CC members!
Its LOVELY! I just hope they didn't serve your gorgeous masterpiece on the stack of paper plates in the background...
I know if I'd stacked that it would be leaning one way or t'other - yours is dead straight - great job!
This is beautiful! You did a great job. I dont see where it's lopsided at all. I'm sure everyone was pleased.
Well done!!! It looks great! They better have been thrilled to get such a pretty cake!
Wow that is a huge cake!! You did an amazing job!! It looks Beautiful, congratulations!!!
Looks perfect. I don't think anyone would have notice if it were lopsided, it seems that the picture is crooked not the cake. What stand did you use for this?
Lenore.........I used the Wilton hidden pillars with the standard seperator plates........I just didn't cut them.....she didn't want the tiers stacked right on top of each other.........she wanted the roses and ivy in between, which I think gave it a nice touch. Thank you to everyone for your nice compliments.........Emmascakes.......yep, they did serve it on those horrendous plates..........I forgot they were even in the background when I snapped the photo..........kind of tacky......but the couple was so happy, I heard at church the next day that he was commenting on how well a little girl like me could handle such a large cake......I am just glad it's done........even impressed my hubby, which is sometimes hard to do!
Congratulations! It's great! So classy! What a tremendous undertaking! I've yet to tackle anything even close to that big! WOW!!!
Wow! A spectacular cake! I don't see the lean though, really I don't. Kudos to your fine helpers too I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to start baking with me. You certainly worked hard. I'm just thinking about how each layer is a different filling/flavor - that's a job in itself. Congrats again on a fine cake - job well done
