Recieved my monthly issue of Womans Day magazine today and there is a recipe I thought I would share and also ask if anyone has ever used mayonnaise in there cake mixes and how does it effect the taste, so here goes.

Super-Moist Chocolate Mayo Cake

1 box chocolate cake mix
1 cup Hellmanns Mayonnaise
1 cup water
3 eggs
1 tsp. ground cinnamon (opt.)

Preheat oven to 350 deg
Blend all ingredients, bake as directed on box

I don't remember if it is exactly the same recipe but I have made cakes with mayo before. I like it in chocolate cake. It gives it a moist, rich flavor. I have tried it in a yellow cake mix but I did not care for it as much.

My friend gave me a recipe for a Miracle Whip Cake that her mother makes. I have not made it yet but she says that it is wonderful.

This is it:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1tbsp cocoa
2tsp soda

add:
1 cup miracle whip
1 cup water
1tsp vanilla
9x12 pan / 375 degrees for 30 minutes

crp7, the mayo would not work with the vanilla cake
the mayo enhances the chocolate flavor besides making it moist
just coffee enhances the flavor of a chocolate cake
there are some cakes you wouldn't want to pair up with other fillings
just thought you wanna know
