I was doing so good too. I was making my first ever wedding cake (just for practice thank god!). I had all the layers decorated. I was making a 4 tier cake with pillers. Anyway, I was assembling the cake. I had a 12" round on the bottom with supports and pillers to hold a 10". I put those together with no problem. I had pillers again with supports to hold the next layer which was an 8" round with a 6" on top. I got the whole thing together and just making my final touches and BAM now it's all over the table and floor. I guess it has to happen to everyone at least once in thier life. I'm bummed but will try again.
Just venting on my disapointment with myself. Thanks for listening. [/img]
It must be in the air. Just made my youngest son's birthday cake and pulled it out of the oven. Tipped it over to cool and half the cake stayed in the pan. I know that it coated the pan correctly but I must of been in a hurry to cool it. Oh well he's cake is going to be pieced together. He'll never notice. Maybe.
Did you have dowels/straws in place also? Or just the supports that come with the plates and pillars?
