HI YA'LL !!!!
OUR CHURCH IS CELEBRATING THERE 5TH ANNIVERSARY THIS SUNDAY AND WHILE THEY HAVE ORDERED CAKES FROM SAM'S CLUB I WANTED TO TAKE ONE IN ALSO.
I AM LOOKING TO DO SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT IN FLAVOR TO REALLY STAND OUT. ANY IDEAS OR RECIPES WOULD BE GREAT ?
I WAS THINKING SPICE WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE GANACHE FILLING AND CREAM CHEESE ICING BUT WANTED TO ASK HERE FIRST FOR ANYTHING NEW.
THANKS
I made one for a church picnic yesterday that tasted good and looked really impressive.
I used an enhanced white cake mix and added two tablespoons of hazelnut coffee mate. I made two 8" layers, and cut each in half to make four layers. I used a marshmallow creme icing to fill between the layers, then poured ganache over the whole cake. I stuck chocolate hazelnut Pirouline cookies all around the side and tied a ribbon around it.
I put mine together the day before, and my cookies were kind of chewy instead of crispy. I think that next time I will wait until a little closer to serving time, but I wasn't sure how it would all work.
What is popular in your area? spice cake has zero popularity here in my area and would be a big flop . Since you're the master baker that you are you want something that will be gone before the end of the day. BigFatMamaKat's cake sound very appealing to a wide crowd of young and old alike. Certainly a step ahead of the big-box-bought cake!
Red Velvet is now one of my most ordered cakes here in NYC. I am booked for as many Red Velvets as I am for White Velvet for wedding cakes. It's a craze! Jump on the band wagon! lol.
Right now my biggest seller is my carrot cake which is laced with coco lopez, pineapple and pecans.
I also add coconut cream to the cream cheese icing.
