Well--what I mean is this...A good friend of mine had a heart transplant several months ago. She was very ill and we are all so grateful that she is better now.
Another friend threw a b-day party for her and brought...
A red-velvet heart shaped cake.
My husband--who I admit has a strange sense of humor--couldn't help being a little grossed out at the thought of eating a heart--after her recent transplant.
I thought it was a little weird myself.
LMAO when I got home though.
I think it would depend on the person the party or cake is for. My mom would have been angry if she received a cake after her bypass surgery, where I would have cracked jokes about people stealing my heart.
I agree that it depends on the person. I think that it would seem a little odd, but if it's someone who really would see the good humor and feelings behind it, they probably wouldn't be offended.

doc-farms your munching cow is adorable!! Where do you people find these cute things anyway???
As for the heart shaped cake I think of the heart shape as a symbol of caring and love. I wouldn't be offended at all if I got one, even after heart surgery. If the recipient isn't hurt by it I don't see why anyone else would be. A heart shape is a pretty natural selection under the circumstances. A friend of ours had a heart transplant in the spring and I'll tell you he's soo happy to be alive and healthy again he sure wouldn't be offended.
By the way, if someone wanted wanted to show me some love and caring by making me a heart cake I'll be having double foot surgery next Friday. And I'm just down the road here in Kansas! Ü
OH no....justfrosting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too funny!!! I bet that's what my sis would have said if she'd been here reading this thread! We get pretty funny/gross together.
