Was reading a previous post in this forum about announcing 2nd, 3rd, 4th place in the contests. Was there ever a decision on this and will it be done for future contests?

Thanks!

Kelly

I guess not too many people responded to my post. i think it's a gret idea! No one really sees posts in this area though!

Nope, nobody reads this far down the page, they stick everything into the top two or three categories whether that's where they should be or not and that is evidently as far as they read, if they read at all! It is so much easier to just ask a question for the umpteenth time!

I also think the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners in the contests should be reconized, maybe even a certificate would be nice and wouldn't cost much to print up.

It seemed like there was considerable agreement to this idea before, but evidently the powers that be didn't care for it! Janice

icon_wink.gif How about giving a free cake central coffee mug instead of a certificate? This could be for the 3rd & 4th place winners..And for the second place winner a cc apron........

Hi guys,

Yes I do agree that acknowleding the 2nd 3rd and fourth place winners are a very good idea, and It's something I am currently working on. Right now the budget only allows for 1 prize to be given away for each contest, however for the next contests I will be adding the runners-up to the contest winners newsletter and forum announcements. Everyone does such incredible cakes I wish I could give everyone a prize icon_smile.gif

Hi, Jackie, I am so tickled, I just got my first newsletter this past week (I signed on in March), so maybe these winners have been in the newsletter!
I kept checking the forum about the newsletter and couldn't figure out where it was, obviously I should have asked but kept forgetting about it.

We all understand about the expense consideration, we all have to deal with that, just some form of acknowledgement would be great!

I know what you mean, all of the cakes are wonderful, I shouldn't let myself be intimidated at all, I was very proud when I submitted my cake to the Mother's Day Contest, and kicked myself for not finishing my cake and entering the FD one!

Thanks again. Janice

Yea, I'm so happy you guys agree! I totally agree about the budget thing. I don't think runners up need prizes. I would just be thrilled if I could tell people that I was able to come 3rd, 4th, ect!!! That's prize enough for me and a reason to keep trying!
