Question About Posting For Contest
Decorating By thecakeboutique Updated 6 Jul 2005 , 6:25pm by thecakeboutique
Iam brand new to this board and was thinking about posting a cake for the 4th of July contest but the only holiday cake I did this year was design another fabulous decorator came up with. Should I not post because it was not my original design? In a way I feel a little quilty, I made this cake but she truly deserves all the credit for the design. Just wanted to check before deciding to post. Thank you!
I'm not really sure about the answer to you question. I always like to see and origional design, but we borrow from each other all the time. maybe you'll get some more clear answers.... Welcome to CC!
I've seen other cakes where the idea came from someone else's design and they just stated the other designers name and gave credit to her/him for the idea. We all "borrow" or are inspired by other people's work, but we should give credit where it is due.
It is a definite no no to use other people's cake photos!!! Janice
I went ahead and posted and definately gave the original designer credit. And yes I did bake and decorate the cake

That is perfectly OK. If you like you can say "Based on orginal design by..." in the photo's description.
