This is so funny, because just a day before the show I was researching on the internet about henna designs, I been wanting to make a Mendhi cake for a while, I think that will just give me the courage to do it, I'll post when is finish.
My question is: do they use brown royal icing or chocolate?? icon_rolleyes.gif

Did anyone notice the gun he used to make the tassels for the pillow? It sure beats the little clay gun. I'd like to know where he got it.

yep..that show inspired me to do Graffiti Cakes!

In one of DUff's first episodes he said.." I have a background in Graffiti".

That was all I needed to hear, now I tivo all the shows and practice for my son's first bday.

Best to all,
Rick Q.

i love watching the show, i tivo it and watch them more than once to take in all the cool designs and get ideas. i loved the mendhi designs, that was just amazing! i got so frustrated watching the dinosaur disaster with the rice crispies, too.

and i have to say, i'm developing a crush on geof! what do i say, i like the slightly-nerdy-artsy look, and he's so amusing!

I love this show too. I don't have Tivo but I tape the shows on VHS and send them to Gaynor in England. Her husband transfers them to DVD for her. I emailed Mary Alice to whine about the fact that 6 shows just weren't enough. She wrote back and said they got renewed for 13 more episodes and start shooting next week with release probably after the first of the year. YAHOO!! And I secretly like Geoff best too, he reminds me of my favorite nephew with that quiet, laid back personality and that dry sense of humor.

It's a cookie press, today I was taking all the stuf out of kitchen cabinets (because I'm remodeling my kitchen icon_biggrin.gif ) and found it.
So, i guess is also a better options than a clay gun since is so small and with the cookie press you can make any shape, all you have to do is keep pushing down! icon_lol.gif

You think Mary Alice calls them over to read all our posts? Yikes, hope Duff/Geof don't get big heads from all the ladies spreading the lovin' to them! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Maybe they'll give a shout out to everyone on one of the shows! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif Doubtful I know!!

I wonder if you actually worked there if you would still be so amorous? The girls that work there seem to be able to finish their work on time!!! Maybe the Charm wears off after a time??

Well, I for one am still locked in, cuties, all of them! And I would even like to hang with the girls, and I don't really get along well with girls much, rather, I don't really seem to be able to connect....but, they seem to be my kind of chicks!

I wish all there the best!

how funny, i didn't think of that, that Mary Alice or one of the other gals would 'report back' to the guys! now i'm a little embarrased icon_redface.gif eh, i'm sure they are having a blast and too busy with their cakes to bother with reading all these posts about how cute they are!

that is what i love about this show, they just look like they love their jobs...i thought i liked my job now, but i sure don't get to have that much fun every day like they do! it reminds me of my college days thumbs_up.gif i hate being a 'grown up', only a few years out of school and i'm already wondering how to get back to that kind of fun...i relive it when i watch this show!

Rainbow_Moon, I formed a Red Hat Society Chapter and found out how to have fun again....I'm lots older than you though--57. We do have 5 Pink Hatters (under 50) in our group and they have fun right along with those of us over 50.

I did enjoy watching Ace of Cakes but they're all too young for me to get a crush on them. icon_cry.gif Unbelieveable cakes that they come up with.

I had several people ask me some questions about the cake I did on last weeks show. (Sorry it took awhile for me to respond, I've been kinda busy and also getting over bronchitis icon_sad.gif )

I did use a dark brown royal icing for the piping. I have never piped with chocolate, so I'm not sure if you could achieve the same effect with it.

As far as inspiration for the designs. I just pulled some different henna designs off the interent and used them mostly as inspiration. I really love doing those kinds of cakes. It reminds me of doodling in my notebooks in school! icon_smile.gif

Let me know if you guys have any more questions!

MDES
