I'm looking for a moist butter cake. It is for my parents anniversary and my Mom wants a rich, moist cake, like the kind they use for weddings.

Thanks!

If you want a cake mix box recipe - using the Duncan Hines butter cake mix is great - mix as directed on the box and then add vanilla pudding powder - it comes out moist and dense enough to give it substance. If you want to do it from scratch - Wilton's site offers a butter cake recipe that I have tried that is also very good.

This is the wedding cake recepie I use...

-1 1/2 cups room temperature butter
-2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
-5 eggs
-1 tsp vanilla extract (pure)
-3/4 tsp almond extract (pure)
-3 cups flour
-3/4 tsp baking powder
-1/4 tsp salt
-1 cup milk

-Preheat oven to 350
Cream butter and sugar till fluffy
-Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each
-Add flavors, mix
-Mix dry ingredients together in seperate bowl
-Add flour mixture alternating with milk, starting with flour (flour, milk, flour, milk, flour)

NOTE: This recepie CAN more than one hour for a 16" cake. My 12" pan usually takes 45min to 1 hour.

the regular 3.4 oz - Jello ones. As a hint - if you have a Wal-mart by you, they sell them for 62 centsicon_smile.gif
