I know that I haven't participated in any of the past months themes but I do plan to participate in the this one. If it is not too early for everyone I would like to suggest back to school. My daughter returns to school in August however I know that some are returning after Labor Day.

How about an ancient Roman theme in honor of the month of August (obvioulsy named after Augustus). Togas, ruins, Roman scenes, etc...

OK... it seems like "games" has the most support right now, but we still have 2 days to hear everyone's thoughts!

Back to school is definitely on everyone's mind for August (even if they start in September because they are getting supplies, clothes, etc.)

I also like the game idea; however, I wonder if that could be a winter month idea, as that is when my family and I play a lot of games when we are in the house more. Just a thought.

One other suggestion - it is SUPER hot in my neck of the woods in August. Maybe something to do with that - water, sun, beach, swimming, etc. Those are typical summer items, but they are put to use a lot where it is really hot in the month of August.

I haven't joined in on this before now. Where can I find the "rules" of the cookie club?

Ok what about something off the wall like vacation, or beaches, or fantasy or what not, I mean alot of people go on trips on the summer. Me I fantasize about going on a vacation icon_cool.gif or Dreams, make a cookie of what you dream off...

happy baking

How 'bout "bugs"?

We have a little house in the Catskill mountains and boy were we inundated with a bazillion different kinds of them! They don't look too cute squished on my shoe, but I bet they'd make adorable cookies!

I like the games idea and the Roman idea - anything that's not a typical theme tied to the month or time of year. Allows for the creative juices to flow! thumbs_up.gif

Back to School is a good idea. How about Agriculture? My hubby works for John Deere and people are doing all sorts of things this time of year! Maybe crops and tractors and stuff? Maybe that would be better for October! Anyway, that's my input!

well, there seems to be alot of support for both board games and back to school.... how about we go with back-to-school this time, since it's "timely"?

But board games is a great suggestion for a future month!

I'll start the new thread now...
