You don't have to use butter flavor. You can use any flavor you like.

This may be a bit off subject, but I made a really dense, moist, rich chocolate cake (on the Hersey's cocoa powder can). I wanted to try the rolled buttercream, but wanted a different flavor. I used pepermint extract in place of butter flavoring. I topped it off with chocolate ganache rosettes around the top (8" round cake), and on each rosette, I placed a Hersey's Swoops (they look like pringles, but come in Hersey flavors like pepermint patty, pb cup, etc..). The swoops are dark chocolate, with white slash design across the top- very elegant looking. So I had a rich chocolate cake, with pepermint rbc, and ganache w/ swoops. It lasted about 5 minutes at work!!! I love using candy for decorating- they are always coming out with new fun looking candy, and it tastes really good too if you have leftovers!! Take care,! -B.
