I'm making pirate ship cookies for my boys classes...one Thursday and one friday. Can I bake them all tonight and decorate them tomorrow? IS that too soon for the Friday cookies? I can make the dough and bake half tomorrow night and the rest Thursday night if I need to, but was thinking I could maybe do them at the same time? Anyone here have a timeline they use? Thanks!

Hello! I just did these very cookies with this very frosting this past weekend. I did mine 2 days in advance and just kept them in an air-tight container until ready to frost. The icing I made the same day I made the cookies...just covered it real well so it would not crust over. It worked out fine. Hope this helps.

**Of note, the leftover cookies I had were kept in an air-tight container. I ate one this morning and it was still good and fresh, so I think your time allotment should be fine.

keeping the cookies in an airtight container doesn't make them really soft? I tend to like more of a crispy, hard cookie.
