Here is the recipe some of you requested..
White Chocolate Cake

1/4 lbs white chocolate ( I used white chocolate chips)
1 1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of butter
4 egg yolks (save egg whites)
1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla ( I used french vanilla)
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of buttermilk

Melt chocolate (do not boil) let cool and add vanilla. Cream butter, 1 cup of sugar.. add chocolate... Add egg yolks one at a time. Sift dry ingredients.. add flour mixture and milk (rotating).
Whip egg whites and 1/2 cup of sugar to a soft peak.. gently fold in.

pour batter into 2 8" round pans.. at 350 for 40-50 mins..

White Chocolate Icing

1/4 white chocolate ( I used white chocolate chips)
1 cup of sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla ( I use french vanilla)
2 1/2 teaspoon of flour - all purpose
1 cup of whole milk
1 cup of butter

Melt chocolate ( do not boil). Add Melted chocolate, flour and milk to a medium size saucepan. cook over medium heat, stirring until thick.. (about the same thickness of pudding)
Let cool completely!
Once cooled cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add chocolate mixure..
Do not over mix, it will become soupy..
Refridgerate for about 20 mins. then ice your cake..

You can use a rasberry (seedless) jam or jelly for filling..
Enjoy!!

P.S. Once you get your batter into your cake pans.. Slam them down on the counter or floor.. (banging air bubbles out) Until you see no more bubbles.. this will make a prettier cake once it's baked..

Oh yeah, because it has butter in the icing.. This cake will have to be refridgerated..

Sounds wonderful. One question - the sugar in the icing, is it confectionary sugar or granulated?

Testing the cake recipe tonight. On the thought of using powdered sugar, if one wanted to try converting, you should probably convert by weight versus volume. At least, in recipes that I've seen where it offers you the option of using either powdered or regular sugar, the volume of the powdered sugar is always much greater.

A very tasty cake. I love when the cakes turn out fluffly like this, I'm not a big fan of dense cake and I'm always looking for recipies that are closer to the moist and airy boxed mix characteristics. The cake had the overtones of white chocolate without being too much. Though I did not use the frosting listed here, I just used a regular 1 lb powdered sugar batch of buttercream and added two ounces of white chocolate. Delicious, but boy was it a rich dessert (especially since I filled with strawberries).

I think my poor pathetic husband regretted wolfing down a fifth of the cake in one go, lmao.
