I officially hate frosting with cream cheese frosting, does anyone else have a problem with it? I can't get it smooth, it doesn't crust well, looks lumpy when I use the viva paper towel method, seems to slide off too easily.......... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Darn it if it doesn't taste so good!
i did my dad a cake last night--thank goodness i didn't have to decorate it--
i will be decorating one with cream cheese frosting in 2 wks--i might should practice first
I really have decorated with it before, but not so much to got to be smooth stuff keep it cold cold cold is all i know
edited to say--YES i love it--yumm yumm
I normally use the CCC recipe from this site, but the last time I used it, it was sooooo gritty and a real pain to get semi smooth. The cake was a moss green color but the 'grit' picked up more color so it was sort of speckled. Strangely, it tasted really good. I forgot to sit the butter and CC out and had to nuke them to room temp. I'm fairly certain that's what did it...and I didn't sift my sugar.
I make one that I got either here or on another forum that starts with canned creamcheese frosting. They you add stuff to it. It does crust and can get really smooth. Plus it tastes good.
But of course nothing is as good as real homemade creamcheese icing.
Yummy!
someone told me about white choc cream cheese, plus i also read about in recently

My buttercream has cream cheese in it! Weird I know! But It really works very well, I have never had any problems with it! Let me know if you would like to try it!
