I just made MMF for the 2nd time. I like it and the consistency seems to work for me but I dont like the strong p.s. taste. When can I add flavoring is the loranne's oils type flavoring best to use?

Also, I am considering using this to cover a cake for an out door party, would it do ok setting in the summer time heat for a couple of hours till it was served?
Thanks guys, you always help me so much! thumbs_up.gif

i dont think it should be in the direct sun, but given that, i think it would be ok, but then again, i dont know from experience. Good question about the oils...

so i guess here, is a bump!
I look forward to other's responses.

I normally use butter extract instead of vanilla for my MMF. I find that it gives a more mellow taste, comparable to a flavored buttercream, instead of melted marshmellows.

I have not tried flavored oils, but I'm sure they would work just the same. I think I would substitute a few drops (5-6) of oil for your vanilla flavoring in the mix. Then you can taste as you add PS, and add more oil if needed. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out!

PS ~ I don't think you will have a problem with the fondant outside, as long as it's not beastly hot and humid...

Do you use the flavors in place of the water in the MMF recipe on here?
And when do you add the flavor? Also dodes anyone else have any high heat high humidity experience with MMF?

I do use the Loranns oils in MMF (I also use it in Satin Ice when I want a different flavor). As said above just a few drops, LOTS of kneading, and yumm...
