I have noticed a recipe for a creamsicle frosting but it has cream cheese in it and my Dad does not like cream cheese. It seems as though I am also unable to find the oragne supreme cake mix here in Canada.

He wants a creamsicle cake and to be honest, I am not sure what to use for the cake, filling OR frosting. Maybe someone here could help???

Thanks so much!

Here is a dreamsicle cake recipe that starts with a regular (use white or yellow) mix. I've made one using white mix, orange juice instead of water, 1 pkg orange jello, orange zest, 4 eggs, 1/4 cup oil.

As far as the filling - a vanilla pudding filling or a buttercream with orange juice/orange zest works well. The one I made used cream cheese, vanilla pudding, butter, powdered sugar and orange LoAnn oil (you can also buy orange extract), and milk. You could make it without the cream cheese. You could also use mascarpone instead of the cream cheese - that's really good. Keep in mind if you use pudding, you will need to keep it refrigerated.

Anyway, check out this link and see if it looks like something you're looking for.
