I had to re vamp my webpage after I changed my name from PLC to Sweet Thistle Bakery. I think it looks plain but precise. Can I get everyone's opinion? Good -bad- ugly- room for improvement?

How about some pictures of some cakes on your home page? It looks really nice just needs some pics. Other than that, it looks great!

My personal opinion is that the cream colored words were really hard for me to read against the green. The rest of the site looks great!

I love the colors. I agree with AmyBeth-the font is a little hard to read. Maybe if it were a size larger it would help.

Wow, thanks for all of your responses. Ok, I added a pic to the front page. I have more photos- I need to download them and get them up on the cake gallery page. Instead of cream, what other colors do you suggest for the wording? I dont want to do just black because it tends to look monotonous. Ideas are appreciated!

I like the site as well, the green background is nice. I see that the words match the gold line through the flowers, so I'm not sure if you wanted to change that b/c I think that looks good. I would suggest making the font larger. That should darken it some, if not enough make it bold too. The idea of using a chocoalte brown font sounds good also. Like the others said, some more pics would be great (I see your working on that too!). Other than that it looks good to me!

Could you make the background a lighter shade of green to make it easier to read? I love the design of the web site.

I love your site, it is so pretty! The only suggestion I have is for the horizontal green line of leaves that is at the top of the first three pages to be moved one line further away from the text (as it is on the General Information page). A little break between the leaves and the text is easier on the eyes (mine, anyways!) icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif GREAT job!

I'm trying to figure out how to change the background and the leaves, but I think I need to change the template to do that. I'll play around with it for a while and see what I can do! Thanks everyone!

As someone who used to do a lot of this sort of thing...

The dark green of your email address stands out quite well on your price list page - maybe do a light green background and a darker green font. I still find the gold a bit difficult to read. You could do white or even black accents on the fonts to jazz it up a bit. Black and white will add a "spark" of life colorwise (good cake color advice too. icon_biggrin.gif )

Btw, your prices are terrific! I love that you've separated out "party servings" and "wedding servings". That's excellent.

Make it stupid-proof, that's what I always say! Keep it as simple as possible. While you want people to shop a bit on line, the goal is to get them to call you for an appointment. So give them a taste and then have them come to you for more.
