Wanted To Share My First Wedding Cake!

I am very happy to have completed and delivered my very first wedding cake! She wanted a simple, elegant cake with white scrolls on the sides. The topper she bought I thought was a little too tall in relation to the height of the cake. That is why I took a picture at home before adding the topper. I wish the reception site had a little better lighting and nicer decor for my photo. Behind the cake table was a dirty, carpeted riser that I could not avoid in the photo. Oh well, I am very happy it is over and thank you cc for all of the help and support along the way!
Here are the pics if you care to take a look:

Oh and if you do look, which cake pic would be better for my website?
AWESOME CAKE! I like both pics, but prefer the one with the topper....I think it is absolutely lovely.
I agree with the pp, I like the topper one too! Your cake turned out beautiful btw! Jen
Definitely the one with the topper. Have you got photo editing software to lighten it up a bit - may help?
Beautiful job! I love simple, yet elegant. Both photos are great...I like the background and natural lighting better in your first photo but the second one looks more complete with the topper. Congrats on your first wedding cake!
my vote is to post the 2nd pic...i dont care for the topper either, but do agree that it makes your cake look more complete!
stunning job!
use pic #2... you did a magnificent job!! I wonder how many orders you'll get once people see it!?!
Wow! Such a beautiful cake! I'll have to look into the sugarveil pen...hmmm interesting. I like the pic with the topper...like everyone says it looks "complete" with the topper on it.
Beautiful work! I agree, the 2nd photo looks more "complete", but I love the outdoor/natural lighting pictures. Congrats!!
Great job Merissa! Beautiful as always. And you were worried you couldn't pull it off....hmmph!
thanks everyone! I did go and lighten the background of the indoor photo a little. I think it looks a little better now.
It is fun to have a wedding cake under my belt! My shoulders and neck are still aching from the stress, but overall I did not have too many troubles with the cake. Other than my almost 2 year old digging into the 12 inch cake as it was cooling (had to rebake obviously) and on Thursday night the power went out while I was trying to work on them.
Sounds like you had lots of challenges on your first wedding cake but I wanted to let you know you did an absolutely fantastic job!!!!!
My vote is for the cake with the topper. It shows the shine on the royal icing scrollwork. Did you use Luster Dust on it?
congratulations. This is a very pretty cake .Awesome job.I like the 2nd pic .the one with the topper.
Beautiful cake! I vote with topper as well. I think it's a very elegant topper. It is a bit tall in relation, but still very pretty. Nice presentation in whole!
Oh my what a beautiful cake. I can't believe it's your first wedding cake too!! It's gorgeous. What is a sugar veil pen? I would love to know.
What a beautiful cake!
I too prefer the pic with the topper. It finishes off the cake well and you can see how it matches (scroll work on dress and cake) beautiful
Beautiful cake!!!! Your scroll work is terrific and looks so elegant. I like the picture with the topper. Great job and congrats on your first wedding cake!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous cake!!!! I must be the odd man out here...but I prefer the first no topper picture...Brides looking for cakes can imagine flowers or their own topper..plus the sunlight is lovely...
Your cake was absolutely divine but I wasn't so taken with the topper...I think flowers on the top would have adorned it beautifully (just MHO) ..
Congratulations to you!!!
You did a fantastic job, I hope one day I can do as well. I like the one with the topper the best. The angle of this one makes it look so elegant and rich. Hats off to you, job well done!
