My Wedding Cake For Today

I am pretty much done with the cake for this afternoon. I am not really pleased with it. It is a 8", 10", and 12". Devil's food covered in rolled buttercream and silver piped swirls. The cakes are stacked off center purposely. What do you think I could do to improve it? What would you charge? We don't get the prices many of you do here in Omaha so I am charging $150....but like I said I am not happy with the cake so feeling really guilty about charging so much...but needing the money. Okay I can't seem to add a pic..it is in my folder...the three tiered one. Thanks for looking.
I like your cake, you are beating yourself up about nothing. Is it going to have a topper? If not the only suggestion I was thinking is maybe some wire swirls to stick out of the cake as a topper, to match the piped swirls.
You did a great job with the rolled buttercream.. that stuff ain't easy to work with at all! It's hard when a cake just doesn't sit right with us.. but you are you own worst critic. It really isn't that bad.. really!
i agree i've worked with rolled butter cream and it can be a total pain I think you did a great job.
oh.. and I agree.. $150.00???? That cake is a STEAL.. I would charge $430.00 for a cake to serve 100 with that level of decoration. You are charging $1.50 per slice sweetie.. you are worth more than tht for sure! I wouldn't go under $2.00 a slice.
(Edited to change price.. it was originally price for just BC at $330.00.. I charge more for fondant and wouldn't touch RBC for a big cake like that.. LOL)
Thanks everyone. The cake does have a topper. It is a modern swirlly dancing couple BIG thing! It will look good. I am surprised at the comments about rolled buttercream. I love it! It is so smooth and tastes great. Thanks everyone for the boost; I needed that. My niece just came down and said it looks "awesome" She wants one just like it. I hope she changes her mind on that one...she has plenty of time.
I think you did a very nice job. My only suggestion if you do a cake like this again is put your ribbon on first, then do your swirls. You can see how the swirls got mashed through the ribbon. You really don't need the swirls where the ribbon is going. I like the colors.
Well it's all over and the bride loved it so all is well. I know I am my own worst critic but it has been a long time since I felt this bad about a cake.
